Hello! My name is David Skogg – I live, work and play in Sidney by the Sea, BC with my wife Kristine and our dog Chardonnay… Chardie. I love where I live—as it gives us the opportunity to enjoy our passions of gardening, travelling, and cooking together… and of course for me—designing and helping with project management to bring your home dreams alive.

I am passionate about reducing green house gas emissions by designing high performance houses including Net Zero and Passive Houses. If you are looking for a designer to work with to develop a high performance house I can help you.

I attended the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology NAIT; and graduated first in my class in Architectural Technology. My career and expertise have spanned the following areas:

• 30+ years working in the residential construction industry in every channel including, architect, builder, building supply manufacturer, building supply retailer, building supply wholesaler, renovator.
• I have 20+ years specialising in engineered lumber working at Trus Joist and Weyerhaeuser which helps me analyze existing wood frame structures.
• Since 2012, I have had the opportunity to design, budget, project manage a variety of projects from two million dollar new-build semi-detached homes to man-woman cave basement renovations

I am a self-professed passionate home design technology nerd—and that means I use:

• State of the art 3D design software to produce virtual as-built models and new virtual designs for my clients…. And what that really means – You can easily visualize your new home or new renovated space
• I draw on my expertise as a wood-frame structure specialist to analyse home structures so that I can create and design innovative open plan spaces
